The bearing comes from a spherical trigonometry (great-circle) formula between your coordinates and the Kaaba's (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E) — the same method used in the Islamobile app. The calculation runs entirely in your browser: your location is never sent to a server.
How do I use this direction?
First face true north (using a compass or your phone's compass app), then turn by the angle shown: you are now facing Mecca. The arrow displayed above gives a visual reference once you're facing north.
