Supplications for purification and ablution
Purification precedes prayer, and it too comes with precise formulas: before entering the bathroom, on leaving it, before and after ablution.
بِسْمِ الله ) اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ)
(Bismi l-lâhi). Allâhumma innî a`ûdhu bika mina-l-khubthi wa-l-khabâ’ith.
(In the name of Allah). O Allah, I take refuge with you from all evil and evil-doers.
غُفْـرانَك
Ghufrânak.
I ask You (Allah) for forgiveness.
بِسْمِ الله
Bismi l-lâhi.
In the name of Allah.
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَريـكَ لَـهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمّـداً عَبْـدُهُ وَرَسـولُـه
Ash-hadu an lâ ilâha illa l-lâhu, wahdahu lâ sharîka lahu, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan `abdûhu wa rasûluhu.
I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
اللّهُـمَّ اجْعَلنـي مِنَ التَّـوّابينَ وَاجْعَـلْني مِنَ المتَطَهّـرين الله أكبر
Allâhumma j`alnî mina t-tawwâbîna wa j`alnî mina-l-mutatahhirîn.
O Allah, make me of those who return to You often in repentance and make me of those who remain clean and pure.
